NC State’s 13th chancellor will be introduced at a welcoming event for the campus community at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, in the College of Textiles Atrium on NC State’s Centennial Campus. The event will be the new chancellor’s first opportunity to address faculty, staff, students and alumni. The new chancellor will be selected by the University of North Carolina Board of Governors earlier in the day on Friday, upon the recommendation of UNC President Molly Corbett Broad. The new
chancellor replaces Dr. Marye Anne Fox, who left the university in July;
Dr. Robert Barnhardt has served as interim chancellor since that
time. A search committee appointed by NC State’s Board of Trustees
recruited and interviewed candidates over the course of the past five
months. The search committee forwarded the names of several top candidates
to the
Board of Trustees, and the trustees in turn forwarded three names to
President Broad. Posted October 7, 2004 |
