a ribbon to officially open the William and Ida Friday Institute
for Educational Innovation on Wednesday, Nov. 9. The mission of the
$10 million, 33,000-square-foot facility is to advance education
through innovation in teaching, learning and leadership, giving
particular attention to rural and underserved regions of North
Carolina. The building is named in honor of former UNC System President
Bill Friday and his wife Ida, and is connected to Centennial Campus
Middle School on Centennial Campus.
