“The
Pulitzer Prize Photographs: Capture the Moment,” a traveling exhibit
hosted by North Carolina State University Libraries at the D.H. Hill Library,
has extended its exhibition through Sunday, Dec. 28. Many photos in the exhibit document historic moments that are instantly recognizable, especially war-related photos from around the world. Included are Joe Rosenthal’s World War II photograph of the raising of the flag over Mount Suribachi on Iwo Jima in 1945 and many haunting images from the Vietnam War. Also featured are photographs by N.C. native and Pulitzer-winner John H. White. The exhibit was originally slated to close Saturday, Dec. 13. The D.H. Hill Library is located at 2205 Hillsborough Street, across from the Wachovia Bank Building, in Raleigh, N.C. The NCSU Libraries offer leading-edge resources and services from the central library, the D.H. Hill Library, and four branch libraries. In all, the Libraries have a collection of more than 3.1 million volumes, nearly 53,000 print and electronic serials, and hundreds of databases, with emphasis on science, engineering, and technology. Visit NCSU Libraries Web site. For more information about the exhibit, events, hours or parking, call 919/515-7188. Posted December 8, 2003 |
