Extension grants issued
to 18 campus projects

Eighteen projects ranging from water quality to developing North Carolina’s aerospace economy will receive almost $125,000 in University Extension grants.

The Office of Extension and Engagement announced the winning proposals of the 2004-2005 University Extension and Engagement Grant Program. Funding for these awards was contributed by the Office of Research and Graduate Studies, Cooperative Extension Service, McKimmon Center for Extension and Continuing Education, and the Industrial Extension Service.

The program encourages faculty, EPA professionals, and students to become more engaged in addressing the needs of North Carolina citizens, communities, schools, businesses, industries, and governments. The emphasis of the University Extension and Engagement Grant funds is to provide seed money to develop strategies that address critical issues facing North Carolina. The University Standing Committee on Extension and Engagement managed the award process.
