Conclusions
Focus group comments essentially the same in both classes
- More work than a regular class but worth it
- like in-class group work, but not out-of-class group work
- Liked that instructors knew their name & progress
- More effective for learning than regular lecture class
Concept tests/common exam problems show differences
- Activity-based classes performed better than regular lecture classes
- Enhanced lecture classes performed on par or slightly better than regular lecture classes
