This year’s speaker is author, entrepreneur and Afghanistan war veteran Wes Moore. His presentation is titled “One Name, Two Fates: The Consequences of Personal Responsibility”.
A book signing will immediately follow the presentation in Stewart Theatre lobby.

Wes Moore served in Afghanistan as a member of the elite 1st Brigade of the 82nd Airbone Division and upon returning from war became a White Hosue Fellow and served as a Special Assistant to then Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice. While doing research in South Africa, he learned of a warrant for the arrest of a man named Wes Moore for the murder of a police officier in the Baltimore, Maryland neighborhood where he grew up. His communication with this other Wes Moore and the story of how their lives took different paths led to the best-selling “The Other Wes Moore”.
