Purpose
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. was founded in 1911. It is a service fraternity comprised of men that have accepted and conceded the concepts of manhood, scholarship, perseverance, and social uplift as their guiding principles. Always interested in attracting men of high ideals and ambitions, Omega Psi Phi has among its ranks such notable men as Reverend Jesse Jackson; the late Dr. Ronald McNair, physicist and astronaut; and the late Mr. Clarence Lightner, former Mayor of Raleigh. NC State’s Kappa Lambda Chapter exemplifies the “Omega Man,” responding nobly to the call of leadership, scholarship, and community service.
