Since Editorial A Contracorriente is a non-profit organization, we sell our books-on-demand at the price it costs to produce them. We are able to accomplish this via our publishing and distribution partners. We publish academic monographs on Latin American studies in Spanish and English, highlighting the intersection between the humanities and social sciences.
Interested readers can find our books on Lulu.com, Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble. We highly encourage readers to buy the books on Lulu.com to take advantage of special discounts.
Founded in 2003 as a refereed, electronic journal designed to stimulate left-wing sociohistorical analyses of Latin American literature and to counteract the relativism present in poststructuralism and postmodernism, our publication A Contracorriente became, shortly thereafter, a journal dedicated to Latin American studies. Editorial A Contracorriente was founded seven years later, in 2010, with the aim of continuing in our journal’s footsteps by fostering intellectual debate about Latin American studies from a left-wing point of view.
