In order to enroll in an on-campus or distance education course as a Non-Degree Studies (NDS) Student:
- Students must have a high school diploma or GED (high school students with exceptional academic records can enroll through the Academic Enrichment (AEO) program.)
- Students must have graduated from high school at least a year prior to taking classes as an NDS student; this restriction does not apply to Summer Sessions or Advance Enrichment Opportunities (AEO.)
- Students must not have been suspended from any college or university (including NC State) within the last three years. For more information on suspended students click here.
- Students cannot be currently classified as an NC State University degree student.

* Foreign Nationals with valid Permanent Residence or Asylum Status should submit the Non-Degree Studies Student Registration Application to Registration & Records with a copy of their Green Card or documentation of their valid Asylum Status
