Description
The minor in Extension Education is open to all interested baccalaureate
students. The minor is especially appropriate for students enrolled in
agricultural majors and interested in careers in Cooperative Extension.
Students completing a minor in Extension Education will become familiar
with the organization, structure, and mission of Cooperative Extension,
the planning and delivery of nonformal educational programs, communication
media and technololgy used in extension programs, and accountability systems
used in extension.
Requirements
The minor requires a minimum of 16 credit hours with 10 credit hours
from a required core and 6 credit hours from a list of advised electives.
The minimum grade required for all courses counting toward the minor is
"C-".

*AEE 226 is the preferred course. However, CSC 200 may be substituted
for AEE 226 for students whose majors require CSC 200.
Admissions and Certification of Minor
Admissions
Students who plan to minor in Extension Education should contact Dr.
Jim Flowers, Undergraduate Coordinator for the Department of Agricultural
and Extension Education. Applications and requirements for the minor
may be obtained in 13 Ricks Hall or contacting the departmental Student
Services Assistant at 919.515.2241.
Certification
Dr. Jim Flowers will certify the completion of the student's
minor program. Certification must be submitted no later than the registration
period for the student's final semester at NC State. The minor must
be completed no later than the semester in which the student expects
to graduate from his or her degree program.
