Fisheries Sciences Minor Description

of Minor | Contact The minor will provide basic ecological and management knowledge about, and will cultivate an appreciation for, the value of fish resources. The fisheries sciences minor is to provide students, who might pursue careers in related areas of natural resources management, with basic ecological and management knowledge about fisheries resources. Additionally, the minor will provide students majoring in unrelated fields an appreciation for the value of fish resources and the need for sound management.
Required Courses (15-16 credit hours)
Admissions and Certification of Minor Any student seeking a minor must consult with the minor adviser on a plan of work and must file a copy of this plan with the major adviser and the Academic Affairs Office in the student's home college as soon as the minor is declared - at latest, by the end of the regular registration period one semester prior to the semester of graduation. Plans of work filed late may result in recognition of the minor NOT appearing on student's final transcript. The fisheries minor is not available to fisheries and wildlife sciences majors.
