The global economic meltdown robbed
the African Educational Research Network AERN), the publisher of The African Symposium, the opportunity
of holding its annual summit scheduled for Uganda Martyrs
University in April
2009. Members who could have traveled from the United
States and other parts of Africa to Uganda
could not be financially assisted by their respective institutions to
undertake such a journey a time of economic crunch. Nevertheless, the
activities of the Network continued to be carried out online, including
the production of this issue of our online journal. More popular than
ever, The African Symposium continues
to attract research articles from all over the world;
