How AFAR is
Funded
The American Foundation for Aging Research is
funded by individual donations, some corporate donations, and by the
Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). The CFC is an employee-focused,
cost-efficient program that provides Federal employees with a unique and
efficient way to donate to charities.
Why Donate to AFAR?
- Since 1979 we have simultaneously
supported higher education and the future intellectual capital in the
field of aging research. Our grants to undergraduate and graduate
students may be used to defray tuition costs or for travel and lab
expenses related to research and the presentation of such research.
- Unlike large foundations, we allow and
encourage donors to honor the memory of loved ones by creating named
fellowships designated to finding cures for specific diseases and
illnesses.
- More than 80% of our income goes
directly towards student grants and program costs. We waste nothing
with our conviction that every penny saved goes towards saving lives.
- Your contribution will enhance education
to increase awareness of AFAR
- Non-profit watchdog
Guide Star verifies our non-profit status.
