Nikon SMZ-10
The Nikon SMZ-10 (pictured at left) is a stereo microscope used to image specimen that are irregular or require a lower magnification ( 2X - 40X). A Sony DCR-PC101 miniDV camera is attached to the microscope for taking still images and recording digital videos. The lighting can be from the anular fiber optic ring or oblique from external sources. Substage lighting can also be obtained by using a fiberoptic backlight.
