AFROTC Detachment 595 Alumni
Detachment 595 is proud of the long history that Air Force ROTC has enjoyed here at NCSU. Historically, participation in ROTC, or Military Sciences, was required for all male students during their first two years of enrollment from 1894 until 1965, when it was decided that participation should be voluntary. Air Force ROTC became a separate service at NCSU in 1949 and the unit officially became AFROTC Detachment 595 on 1 August 1952. The long line of ROTC cadets who have commissioned through this program have served with distinction in the Air Force.
If you are an alumnus from our Detachment, please let us know! We would like to maintain a comprehensive history of Det 595 as well as provide a communication tool that will bring together a community of past, present, and future NCSU Air Force ROTC members. For the cadets, it serves as an excellent chance to see how diverse the Air Force is and also to allow for possible contacts for certain career fields. For the alumni, it serves as a chance to see how your fellow Detachment 595 alumni are doing, what career paths they have chosen, and where they are currently assigned.
Alumni Information Form
Please take a few moments to complete the Alumni Information Form and let us know about your career and relevant information you may want to share with us. We are also putting together an Alumni Directory and if you would like your information added to the directory just check the appropriate box on the form. You may also use this form if you want to update your information at any time.. We will add this information to the directory. If you want to update your information at any time, use the same form.
We are also gathering information on former Detachment 595 cadre members. If you'd like to be included in this separate directory, please send us your information in the following form.
Alumni Listing / Directory
You can view a list of Detachment 595's Alumni and the Detachment Commanders from years past, as well as download the directory. However, for security reasons, both require a username and password. To receive a password, please contact email@example.com.
At least once a semester, we showcase different AFSC's to our cadets during Career Day and always invite personnel to talk about what they do in the Air Force. If you would like to speak to our cadets at a Leadership Lab, at our Annual Awards Banquet, or if you are interested in doing an NCSU football pre-game flyby, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
