NC State receives funds from three sources: tuition, appropriations from the state’s budge, and private support. Though tuition and state monies provide a large part of the university’s operating budget, there are always more needs than those two sources can supply.

Gifts to the Office of Annual Giving, which are unrestricted, meet those crucial academic needs. An unrestricted gift allows the university the greatest flexibility for pressing needs and challenges and helps ensure a measure of excellence in diverse programs benefiting our students, faculty and academic initiatives.
