Becoming Certified
First Steps:
1) Decide which progression of classes you wish to take and review the Calendar.
2) Review the Current Class Information. Go to TRACS to review course offerings for PE 226, PE 227 and PE 231. Please note that PE 231 - Scientific Diving is only taught during the spring semester and that PE 227 is a prequisite for PE 231.
3) Print and complete an application.
4) Print and complete the medical forms. Obtain your doctor's signature.
5) Mail the application and medical forms to Larry Brown, DSO; NC State Dive Safety Program; Campus Box 8111; Department of Physical Education; 2007 Carmichael Gymnasium; NC State University; Raleigh, NC 27695-8111.
6) Review the Equipment List and Equipment Hints, and prepare your equipment.
7) Purchase DAN's Dive Accident Insurance.
