Thompson Hall

Frank Thompson Hall underwent an extensive renovation in 2009. The Crafts Center, located on the lower level, offers modern, technology-rich studios for pottery, woodworking, jewelry & metals, photography, fiber arts, glass, art on paper and lapidary classes.


University Theatre occupies the upper level of Thompson Hall with teaching space, scene shop, costume shop, dressing rooms, a green room, offices and two theatres. The Titmus Theatre seats 192 and the Kennedy-McIlwee Studio Theatre seats 102. (See seating charts below). The theatres are primarily used by University Theatre for student productions and a summer theatre series. Other activities are scheduled in the facility as space permits.

Talley Student Union 

The State Ballroom in Talley Student Union is frequently used by performing groups and presenting organizations for meetings, lectures and training. Contact Rave! Event Services at 919-513-8368 (919-51 EVENT) for reservation information.


Stewart Theatre is located on the second floor of the Talley Student Union. The theatre will seat approximately 759 (see seating chart below). Operated by University Theatre staff, the theatre is used by ARTS NC STATE, campus organizations and student groups. It is available for rental use by outside organizations on a limited basis.

Stewart Theatre will is accepting reservations for the 2015/2016 academic year. Construction on the new Talley Student Union is scheduled to be finished at that time, and University Theatre crews will be re-fitting Stewart over the summer. Its use and any reservations will be subject to change or cancellation if the Talley construction deadlines should not continue on schedule. Contact Rave! The Gregg Museum of Art & Design

The Gregg Museum of Art & Design is in the process of relocation and expansion at 1903 Hillsborough Street, the historic Chancellor's residence. Groundbreaking is scheduled for Spring 2015.

Price Music Center 

Price Music Center is located next door to the Talley Student Union and is primarily used for music department classes, ensemble rehearsal and practice studios. Eight practice studios located on the lower level are open to all students on a first-come, first-serve basis.
