Stewart Theatre is an 800 seat theatre located on the second floor of the Talley Student Center and operated by University Theatre. The Stewart Theatre office is located at 1202A Talley Student Center, 2610 Cates Avenue, Raleigh NC 27695 (see the maps and directions link at the left). The telephone number is 919.515.3927.
Stewart is used by student and campus organizations for lectures, concerts, plays and other shows. Off-campus renters are welcome when space and time are available. Please read the campus user or rental user information below carefully before requesting space.
STEWART THEATRE IS TYPICALLY BOOKED BY THE DAY, NOT THE HOUR.
PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO SHARE OR TRADE RESERVED DATES.
Campus Users

Please read through the University Theatre Event Handbook before reserving a date. This handbook outlines our policies and procedures and includes important information that will assist you from the reservation process through the successful completion of your event.

Use the link above to access the new online system that allows you to browse for space and time availability. You can then create an account and submit your request through the system. Please note that submitting through the online system does NOT confirm your reservation. Our coordinator will contact you to confirm your reservation and continue the booking process.

BOOKING PROCESS
If you do not make a reservation request online, you will need to fill out the Reservation Request form and submit to our offices via email, fax (919.513.2988) or in person.
Once you have submitted the request through the online system or with a paper form, we will email the Hold Confirmation to you, along with an Agreement of Use. This will hold your date on our calendar. Please sign the Hold Confirmation and complete and submit the Agreement of Use.
Once you have completed the Agreement of Use, please contact our Production Facilities Manager at 919.515.3900 to discuss the details of your event. This is required by all users of the facility.
After you have spoken with the Production Facilities Manager, please complete and submit the Technical Information Sheet. This form is due no later than 21 days before your event.
Based on the Technical Information Sheet and coordination with production staff, an estimate of event costs will be provided to you before your event.
Rental charges are waived for campus users, but additional costs for your event include the cost of the technical and house crews necessary to complete your event and a small administrative charge. If you are selling tickets you will be required to use Ticket Central. Other charges are detailed in the rate summary.
You will be billed following your event. Your payment is due within 30 days of receiving your invoice.

Once you have submitted the signed Hold Confirmation, please contact our Production Facilities Manager at 919.515.3900 to discuss the details of your event. This is required by all users of the facility. The Production Facilities Manager also requests rentals submit a Technical Information Sheet.
After your discussion with our Production Facilities Manager, a contract will be drawn up for your event that will need to be signed by the representative of your organization.
Based on the Technical Information Sheet and coordination with production staff, an estimate of event costs will be provided to you in your contract. (See sample contract on Stewart Forms page).
Rental charges are $500.00/day. Additional costs include the cost of the technical and house crews necessary to complete your event and a small administrative charge. If you are selling tickets you will be required to use Ticket Central. Other charges are detailed in the rate summary.
