Preserving the Past… Paving Way
for the Future
We have
two ways that you can become a permanent part of the new
Frank Thompson Building —
Dedicate a brick or chair through our donor campaigns!
The Frank Thompson Building
has held a very special place in the history of NC State University
and the hearts and memories of our students and community for
more than 80 years. From its early days as the school gymnasium
and home to the “Red Terrors” men’s basketball
team — to serving as the site for countless dances and
socials, the
ROTC rifle range, a temporary home for the Music Department and current home
to our crafts and theatre programs — the Thompson Building has worn many
hats. The renovation of this campus landmark will transform “Old Thompson
Gym” into a world class, state-of-theart facility for The Crafts Center
and University Theatre.

You can become a permanent part
of that legacy by naming a chair in either
the Main ($2500) or Studio Theatre ($1000) . Relax in
a more spacious and comfortable seat while you watch the show
in one of two new state-of-the-art theatres. Dedicate a seat
in honor of yourself or as a unique gift for a family member
or loved one. Your engraved inscription will be permanently mounted
on a brass plaque on your chair. Naming a seat is a wonderful
way to participate in this exciting campaign that will transform “Old
Thompson Gym” into a world-class,
state-of-the art facility for theatre and crafts!

For $150, you can become a permanent
part of the Thompson Building’s
legacy with the purchase of a personalized engraved
brick to
pave either the Theatre or The Crafts
Center walkway entrance. Become part
of Thompson’s history or pay tribute, honor
or memorialize a friend, family or loved
one. By supporting the campaign to renovate
Thompson, you are paving the way for the
future of the arts and the students at NC State!
