2004-2005
Academic advising - All FSAs- Providing academic advising for freshman student athletes at a satisfaction level of 4.0 ("Satisfied") or above in five areas, as measured by the NACADA Advising Survey.
The ACT Survey of Advising was conducted in April 2005. Forty-eight students who are FYC advisees of Academic Coordinators in their respective sports completed the survey. The five areas and their average ratings were:
a. "My academic progress"

Academic advising - All SA- Providing academic advising for all student athletes at a satisfaction level of 3.0 ("Somewhat Agree " or greater) on the Student Academic Advising section (8 questions) of the ASPSA Evaluation Survey. The eight statements and their average ratings were:
a. "I meet with my academic coordinator at least once a semester."

Advisers are continuing to participate in university-sponsored advising activities such as the Advisers Roundtable.
Retention of Student-Athletes- All SA- Having 100% of all athletic teams at the Academic Progress Rate (APR) cut score plus the upper confidence boundary for each academic year.
As of August 31, 2005, the APR has not been calculated for the 2004-05 school year. However, according to preliminary calculations, all teams should be within the cut score and upper confidence boundary.
Placement in Major- All Sophomore SA- By the beginning of their 5 th semester of enrollment, 95% of student-athletes have matriculated into their majors.
During eligibility certification, 97% of student-athletes had matriculated into their majors and 100% had either matriculated or filed
Intent to Major forms by the beginning of their 5 th semester.
Decideness on Major- All FYC Freshmen- By the end of their 2 nd semester, every FYC freshman student-athlete will identify one major into which they plans to matriculate and develop an approved 4 semester Plan of Work for that major.
As of August 31, 2005, 87% of FYC freshmen student-athletes had identified a major into which they plan to matriculate and completed a Plan of Work.
Certification of eligibility- All SA- Certifying a minimum of 95% of student athletes as eligible for participation in their sports during their season of competition as measured by NCAA bylaws.
As of August 31, 2005, 97% of athletes were certified as eligible for participation in their sports for Fall 2005.
FYS Cheating Knowledge- All Freshmen SA- Having 90% of first year freshmen earn a 80% or higher on an instrument designed to measure level of knowledge about what constitutes cheating
94% of freshmen student athletes made a grade of 80% or higher on a quiz about what constitutes cheating. This quiz was taken at the end of the Fall 2004 semester, several weeks after they had participated in a MDS 101C class activity on academic integrity presented by members of the campus Judicial Board.
