Grad Breakfast Fall 2008 a huge success

Vaugh Tower is the backdrop for the celebration.

Graduation day began for 20 NC State student athletes at 7:00 am at Carter-Finley Stadium’s Vaughn Towers at an athletics department-sponsored breakfast for the student-athletes and their families. The student-athletes were greeted by ASPSA’s executive director, Phil Moses as well as Provost Larry Nielson and Athletic Director, Lee Fowler.

Each of the graduates received a red “student athlete” sash to wear over their graduation gowns presented to them by Carrie Leger, the Director of Academic Support and their coaches.

Dexter Adams and Ronnie Bouemboue spoke on behalf of all student-athletes about the experiences they shared during their athletics and academic careers at NC State.

Coaches that were in attendance include: Football coaches coach Tom O’Brien, Andy McCollum, Jim Bridge, Don Horton and Joe Pate; Men’s soccer coaches George Tarantini and Dan Popik; Hans Olsen and Alison Silverio - Women's Tennis Coach; Track and Field coach Chris Coleman; Baseball coach Elliott Avent; Gymnastics coaches Mark Stevenson and Todd Henry; Golf coach Sykes; Cheerleading coach Harold Trammel, and Rifle coach Keith Miller.
