Come and visit the newly renovated Case Academic Center
Case Academic Center
Named after the legendary basketball coach, the Everett Case Academic Center is the new home for the Academic Support Program for Student Athletes. While the bottom floor houses the cafeteria, the top two floors provide ASPSA with approximately 1600 square feet which are
dedicated
to working with student athletes. The second floor of the building is used for study halls, tutoring, and computer labs. The third floor is where the students are advised, classes are taught, and the majority of the staff is housed.
Academic Area (Second Floor)
The majority of tutorials and study halls happen in this area of the building. There is a large quiet study room in addition to the tutorial rooms on this floor. All of the tutoring rooms on the southern side of the building are designed for four people (one tutor and three students) to work comfortably. On the northern side of the building, the rooms are designed for large groups of six people. Each room has a whiteboard and comfortable seating.
There are also two computer labs for student-athlete use. It has 26 desktop workstations with a networked printer. These computers are connected to the university network and have the Novell Application Launcher with all of the programs that the university provides for its students. Additionally, the floor has a wireless network environment where students can use their laptop computers and mobile devices to connect to the Internet through the campus network.
Administrative Area (Third Floor)
Housing a classroom, conference room, and offices for the majority of the staff, this floor is the hub of ASPSA. Taking place here is the administrative business of ASPSA and the National Office of the N4A, academic advising, and meetings with coaches, athletic department or DUAP administration, all of which easily makes this floor just as busy as the second floor.
While newly renovated, the past is still acknowledged with a portrait of Coach Everett Case displayed proudly in the lobby of the main entrance on the second floor.
