Dan Allen Parking Deck Repairs to Impact Traffic Patterns

Repair work on the Dan Allen Parking Deck will impact traffic entering and exiting the deck for the next two months. Work is scheduled to begin Thursday, Feb. 7, and last through early April. The following areas will be impacted:

  • All ramps in the east tower will be designated "up only" and be limited to one traffic lane.
  • Traffic from the east tower ("C" parking zone) on levels two, three and four must exit via the West Tower ("DD" parking zone) side onto Friendly Drive/Hillsborough Street.
  • Pay lot and east tower level one parkers may continue to exit via Dan Allen Drive.

This repair work will affect the volume of traffic exiting the deck via Friendly Drive and the traffic signal at Friendly Drive and Hillsborough Street. Transportation officials are talking with the City of Raleigh to determine if the signal duration time for Friendly Drive can be extended. Drivers are asked to allow extra time for arrival and departure from the deck, especially during class time changes.
