Carter-Finley To Accept AllCampus Cards

Starting at tonight’s season opener against South Carolina, faculty, staff and students will be able to use their AllCampus cards in concession stands at Carter-Finley Stadium.

Card readers have been installed at three concession stands near the student sections: two on the north end zone and one near gate 7, directly behind sections 7 and 8. The card readers connect directly to the campus card system, allowing the use of the AllCampus, Board Bucks and Employee Payroll Deduction accounts to buy food and soft drinks. The AllCampus network is the NC State debit account system that students, faculty and staff can access through their AllCampus ID card. To make deposits, go to http://www.ncsuallcampus.com or visit the AllCampus Network office in the West Dunn Building.

Evolution of the Conflict in Iraq

Hear a military expert’s perspective on how the conflict in Iraq evolved from 2003 to 2009. On Monday, Sept. 21, Brig. Gen. H.R. McMaster, director of concept development and experimentation at the Army Capabilities Integration Center in Fort Monroe, Va., will speak from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in Stewart Theatre.

From 2005 to 2006, McMaster commanded the Third Armored Cavalry Regiment during its deployment to Iraq. His counterinsurgency strategy to retake the Iraqi city of Tal Afar served as a model for future Army operations. After a stint at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London, he was assigned to develop innovative strategies and tactics for the Army Capabilities Integration Center. He commanded Eagle Troop, Second Squadron, of the Second Armored Cavalry Regiment during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm in Iraq from 1990 to 1991. In 1992, he began graduate studies in military history. He is the author of the 1998 book Dereliction of Duty: Johnson, McNamara, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Lies That Led to Vietnam.

His talk is sponsored by NC State’s School of Public and International Affairs in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Triangle Institute for Security Studies.

Wolfline Impacts

In addition to Route 3, Wolfline routes 1, 4, 5, 6 and 8 will all serve the Scott Hall stop and use Gardner Street to exit campus. All eastbound routes will continue to travel on Hillsborough Street but will not pick up or let off  passengers until the Brooks Hall stop on Pullen Road.

Please note: Route 2 (North Campus Reverse) continues to serve Hillsborough Street at the bus stops at Horne and Gardner. Route 2 travels westbound and turns south on Dan Allen Drive and serves Wolf Village, the Administrative Services Complex on Sullivan Drive and the West Lot.
