Campus Kicks Off Charitable Campaign
Faculty and staff kicked off the annual State Employees Combined Campaign Tuesday at the Talley Student Center, promising to raise $525,000 for local and national nonprofit agencies. Allen Reep, vice president of development for the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina, praised university employees for their generosity, which he called, "legendary."
Chancellor Jim Woodward called the annual campaign the best way for employees to demonstrate their commitment to helping those suffering through the economic recession.
Employees may donate through a payroll deduction or by making a one-time gift. More than 900 charities benefit from the annual fundraising event. Last year, NC State employees raised more than $521,000 for the campaign.
