If the ‘60s were never all that psychedelic in Raleigh, the ‘70s
literally glowed in the dark. Karl Larson, an NC State student in the
days when flower power was an alternative energy source, remembers
being transfixed by a vibrant, flowing, ever-changing wall of color.
“It was indescribable,” Larson recalls. “It was mesmerizing.”

100 Years of Hoops
Celebrate a century of men's basketball at NC State - 10 ACC championships, three Final Fours, two national championships and counting - and get the first glimpse of the women's team with new coach Kellie Harper at 7 p.m. tomorrow during Red Rally in Reynolds Coliseum. The hour of hoops hoopla includes mini-scrimmages for both teams, a dunk competition and a 3-point shooting contest with a fan. The event follows the volleyball match against Wake Forest.
