INTRAMURAL SOFTBALL TEAM INFORMATION

Eligibility, Sportsmanship, and Rules

Registration: Monday, February 4- Monday, February 11

TEAM CAPTAIN'S MEETING

Wednesday, February 13, 2008 in the Carmichael Recreation Center Playzone

5:30pm, 6:15pm- Managers can attend either meeting

Play begins: Monday, February 24

Leagues: Men's Open, Fraternity, Men's Residence Hall, Women's Open, Residence/Sorority, Co-Rec, Grad/Fac/Staff

Who can play Intramural Softball

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students with a valid NC State All Campus Card
  • NC State Faculty and Staff with a valid Carmichael Gym membership

Who can NOT play Intramural Softball

  • Current Scholarship baseball/softball players or anyone listed on the baseball or softball rosters provided by NC State
  • Household members

How many teams can I play for

  • Each individual must meet the requirements for the league(s) in which he/she wants to play
  • An individual can only play for one (1) Men's team or one (1) Women's team
  • When Co-Rec leagues are offered, an individual may play for one (1) Co-Rec team and one other Men's or Women's team

How does my team make the playoffs

  • All teams who finish the regular season with at least a 2.5 sportsmanship rating will qualify for the single elimination playoffs
  • To be eligible for the playoffs a player must be on the roster prior to the end of the regular season

Forfeits and Defaults

  • The forfeit charge for softball will be $25.00
  • Forfeit charges must be paid in the Campus Recreation office within four business days or prior to the next sport entry date, whichever comes first.  Failure to pay will result in the team being dropped from the scheduled competition and the captain's student account being charged

Inclement weather

  • In case of inclement weather, call 513.0071 on game day.  This line will be updated during the week at 3:00pm and on Sundays at 1:00pm
  • A lightning detector system is in place at the fields.  If a horn sounds three times you team should leave the field immediately
