Checking Out Equipment:

Please visit the storehouse in the Carmichael Recreation Center on the first floor.  Bring cash or check and your current AllCampus Id.  Equipment may be rented for a day or rented for the “Weekend Rate” which is pickup on Friday and return Monday unless the University is closed. For additional days, equipment will be assessed the “Weekend Rate + Daily Rate”. Equipment can be rented for a maximum of seven days, unless approved by the Coordinator for Outdoor Adventures. Reservations:

Reserve equipment up to fourteen days in advance. We require reservations to occur in person by the individual who is renting the equipment. Please bring your valid AllCampus Card.   Pay for the equipment when you pick it up.  Please pay by cash or checks made out to NCSU only. We encourage patrons to reserve all equipment rented over long weekends.

Boat Reservations:

Reservations are required for canoe or kayak rentals.  Please make your reservations at least one day in advance.  Extra time is needed on our part to prepare the boat for your rental. Canoes and kayaks must be picked up and returned by 6:30 pm.

Equipment Return:

Return equipment to Outdoor Adventures Storehouse during normal business hours.  Please arrive 30 minutes before closing time.  Allow at least 20 minutes to check back in your equipment, particularly on long or busy weekends.  Please return all equipment clean, and dry.  Failure to return equipment clean, dry and in re-rentable condition will result in us assessing the renter a charge.  If bringing back late equipment, please be prepared to pay a late rental charge.  All late equipment will be charged as follows: Late Charges= Daily Rental Rate x Number of Days Late (Up to replacement cost of the item). 

Storehouse Policies

• Please bring your AllCampus ID Card.  The person whose name is on the ID card must make the reservation and pick up the rental.  For example, do not borrow your roommate’s AllCampus Card and expect to rent equipment for him/her or yourself.
• Equipment may be rented by NC State Students with a valid AllCampus ID and the NC State Campus Community who are eligible and have purchased a gym membership.  For additional information please visit the Carmichael Center Recreation Complex.
• All customers may rent a maximum of 2 types of items.  For example, you may rent 2 sleeping bags, 2 tents, 2 canoes and 2 inflatable mattresses.
• We accept cash and check as payment, due at the time of your rental.  Please make checks out to NCSU.
• All patrons will receive a receipt.  Please verify your receipt prior to leaving the storehouse to ensure you received all equipment rented to you.
• For busy weekends and University breaks reservations are highly recommended and encouraged.  No discounts are given for break or holiday rentals.
• Equipment returned damaged, soiled, or unusable will incur a cleaning/ damage charge.  The patron’s name attached to the rental will receive notice and have up to 30 days to pay charges.
• Equipment not returned on the due date will begin to accrue a late charge.  The late charge is the rental cost of the item per day.  After 30 days of the item(s) not being returned, the renter will be charge the full price of the item plus 30 days of late charges.
• Canoe and kayaks must be reserved at least 24 hours in advance.
• When renting canoes or kayaks, please bring someone with you to help with the boat when picking it up and returning it.   
• Canoes and kayaks must be picked up and returned by 6:30 pm.
• Return all  equipment to the storehouse during business hours.
