You want the interviewer to concentrate on you, not your interview attire!
Avoid the following, unless the company culture indicates otherwise.
- Black suit with a black shirt
- Black shirt with black tie
- Suit with tags (or extra buttons) left on
- Tie that stops above your belt
- Clothes you wore yesterday
- Overly bright or large-patterned clothes
- Short-sleeved shirts (men)
- Revealing clothing or low cut shirt
- Clothing that is too tight
- Undergarments showing, even if they match
- Shorts
- Jeans
- Tuxedo
- Hat
- Oversized or excessive accessories
- Hosiery other than natural skin tone (women)
- Random color socks (match your slacks)
- Open toe shoes
- Tatoo (consider covering)
- Piercing (one set of earings ok – women)
- Two day beard
- Fragrance or cologne
