- List of References
You'll need a list of three references if you are graduating this year and seeking an entry-level job. Some employers will request it and you'll be ready. Bring a copy to interviews -- along with an unofficial copy of your transcript and of course, your resume.
Interns and co-ops -- it's unlikely you'll be asked for a list of references. There are however, some research-related opportunities that will require it. Watch individual postings for details.
How to choose references?
Choose those who
know you well -- a mixture of faculty, internship or co-op supervisors, or
community contacts. Once you have their
permission, add them to your list. Provide each reference with a copy of
your resume and a note of thanks. Employers
will typically check your references by phone.
