Overview of the Department
Created in August 2002, the department serves the standard University community and hosts a number of events that include members of the non-university population.

Carmichael Complex Facilities and Operations department supports the activities of Physical Education and Campus Recreation in their mission of providing opportunities for student learning, both inside and outside of the classroom environment. The formal learning component of academic classes and the informal component of acquisition and/or application of skills through Campus Recreation are addressed.

The department is responsible for the management and operation of approximately 455,000 square feet of indoor recreational space, including Carmichael Gymnasium, Carmichael Recreation Center and the Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center. The outdoor ammenities include 8 outdoor basketball courts, 12 tennis courts and 12 acres of lighted field space. Student fees, memberships for eligible non-students, and revenue generated from external events, support the operations of these areas.

Carmichael Board of Directors
The Carmichael Board of Directors is a student advisory group that meets monthly to discuss issues pertaining to the gymnasium. For more information about the panel, please contact Rebecca Hilton.
