GUEST PASSES
Guest Pass Information
Guest passes are available for purchase at Play Central, Carmichael Recreation Center, during normal operating hours, Monday-Friday 8:00am - 9:00pm, Saturday, 9:00am - 5:00pm and Sunday 3:00pm-7:00pm. Passes cost $5 per guest and are valid for the entire day. Please see the rules for guest passes below:
- The primary purpose for sales of Guest Passes is to accommodate friends and relatives of NC State students and Carmichael Complex members.
- Students and members may only purchase guest passes for individuals who are at least 18 years old. Those 17 and under will not be permitted to participate.
- Guest passes are for facility access only. Guests are NOT permitted to participate in programming activities including fitness workshops, yoga/pilates classes, special events, group fitness classes, intramural sports, outdoor adventure workshops, rock wall, or club sports practices, games or events.
- Guests are NOT able to check out equipment from the equipment room.
- Only 20 guest passes per weekday (Monday through Friday) will be issued. There is no limit to the number of guest passes that may be issued for Saturday and Sunday. If a major event is being held in the Carmichael Gymnasium Complex, guest pass sales may be suspended by the Director, due to lack of space availability. Major events include: Special Olympics, Senior Games and Open House.
- Sponsors will be limited to three guests per day.
- Individual guests are limited to three visits per semester.
- Guests must show a current photo ID when entering the facility (Driver's license, passport, etc.).
- Guests must remain with their sponsor through the entire visit.
- Sponsors are responsible for the actions of their guests and both guests and sponsors may be removed or have privileges for future guest passes revoked for failure to follow Carmichael Complex Guest Pass rules and current Carmichael Complex guidelines.
Other Audiences for Guest Pass Sales
Intramural Sports spectators that are not registered prior to the 3:00 p.m. deadline will be eligible to purchase a guest pass when accompanied by a sponsor.
Purchasing Guest Passes
Students or members wishing to purchase guest passes should come to Play Central at Carmichael Recreation Center during normal operating hours. The guest does NOT need to be present at the time of purchase. However, the sponsor will need to know the guest's name and date of visit. There is no time limit to how far in advance passes may be purchased. Passes are not refundable.
Both individuals must appear at the entrance to redeem the guest pass. At that time, the sponsor will show his/her All Campus Card and the guest will show a photo ID.
Weekend and After Hours Exceptions
For those who have guests arrive on weekends and after hours when the Carmichael Complex Main Office is not open, a post-payment option will be made available. The sponsor will fill out an "Agreement to Pay for Weekend Guest Pass Purchase" form at the Cates Ave. entrance. The sponsor has ten business days to pay for the guest pass in the Facilities Office. If payment is not received by this date/time, the sponsor's gym access will be denied until the amount due is paid.
