POLICIES

Conduct
Use of University facilities is a privilege. Participants are expected to act responsibly and respect the rights of others. Anyone engaging in unacceptable, unsafe or irresponsible behavior may have their access to the facilities revoked or modified indefinitely, and may be subject to disciplinary action.
Failure to follow current policies as stated here or in the University's Policies, Regulations and Rules web site, ,ay also result in disciplinary action. Click here for further information.

Prohibited Items
The Carmichael Gymnasium Complex does NOT ALLOW
:: Food and Drinks
:: Smoking
:: Tobacco products
:: Alcoholic beverages
:: Illegal drugs
:: Stereos without headphones

Attire
:: Proper athletic wear must be worn while participating in gym activities.
:: Wear non-marking athletic shoes in all activity areas (except pools, and locker rooms) .
:: Wear swimsuits in pools.
:: Wear shirts and protective foot ware in weight/conditioning areas.
:: Metal cleats may not be worn on playing fields.
:: Eye guards are recommended for racquetball participants.
:: Roller blades and cleats of all kinds are not permitted in the facility.

Personal Belongings
Individuals should not leave book bags, cell phones, key, books, ID cards or any other personal items lying on the floor in the weight rooms, on the basketball courts, outside the racquetball courts or anything else in the facility.
All items must be put either in pockets or stored in a locker while in the facility. Items found left unattended will be taken to Lost and Found located in Equipment Room.
It is also strongly recommended that participants NOT bring watches, money, credit cards, jewelry or other items of personal value to the Carmichael Complex.
Carmichael Complex Facilities and Operations is NOT RESPONSIBLE for losses for personal property.

Additional Policies and Procedures of the Facility
Patrons using the weight rooms must wear a shirt and either athletic sports or pants at all times while in the weight rooms. No flip-flops or jeans are permitted in the weight rooms.
Children are not allowed in the facility, except during children's swim hours. Children over the age of four are not permitted in the locker rooms of opposite sex.
There are special needs changing spaces located in bathrooms (Rooms 1302 and 1303) on the first floor near the tennis court entrance.
Members participating in Intramural Sports can sign their guests up on a Spectators' list. This list is only for individuals who wish to watch game, not work-out. To add a spectator's name to the list, you must go to the Campus Recreation Office (Room 1000) before 3:00pm. Anyone not signed up prior to 3:00pm, will have to purchase a guest pass to enter the facility.

Entrance/Exit
Entry and exit of facilities must always be through the designated main entrances and exit. Violators are subject to disciplinary action. Those assisting others in illegal entry may also be subject to disciplinary action.

Posted Rules
All regulations must be followed as posted throughout the entire facility complex. Participants are also expected to follow verbal instructions from any Carmichael Complex team members.

Pets
Pets, with an exception of guide dogs, are not allowed anywhere on the Carmichael Facility premises, including Miller Fields.

Facility Signage
Requests to post flyers, signs or posters on the bulletin boards in Carmichael Complex must be approved by the Director of Carmichael Facilities and Operations, located in Room 2012. Flyers may be hung, without approval, on the bulletin boards located INSIDE the locker rooms.

Individuals must use tape, staples or push pins to post items.

Floor Change
Personal tape of any type is not permitted on the gymnasium floors or walls. Appropriate tape may be obtained in the Equipment Room.

Bicycles
Bicycles are not permitted in the facility. Bicycles must be chained to a bicycle rack; these racks can be found located near the Carmichael Complex entrances and surrounding areas.
