Phishing Attempts at NC State
Phishers frequently target the email system at NC State. Their fraudulent messages, which appear to come from an authoritative source within the University, may ask you to provide your Unity password or to click on a link within the message. Such messages usually have a sense of urgency, saying that your information is needed to perform some important function in the email system.
Messages like these are always phishing attempts. Keep in mind that no IT personnel at NC State will ever ask for your password, by email or otherwise. If you receive such a phishing message, forward it with its full headers, to abuse@ncsu.edu.
