The Importance of Being Earnest

Oscar Wilde’s “Trivial Comedy for Serious People” is crammed full of memorable satirical humor and larger than life characters (in fact, in all of theatre, is there one more delectable than Lady Augusta Bracknell?). Aquila Theatre’s staging of Wilde’s masterpiece promises to overflow with wit, elegance, and romantic comedy.
Pre-show discussion with a member of Aquila Theatre, 7pm, Walnut Room. Aquila Theatre was founded in London in 1991 by Peter Meineck, and has been based in New York City since 1999. Aquila presents a regular season of plays in New York, at international festivals, and tours to approximately seventy American towns and cities a year. The Importance of Being Earnest will be the tenth Aquila Theatre production on the Center Stage series.
