Comprised of musicians from five nations and four continents, this Raleigh-based "composers' collective" provides a forum for the fusion of jazz and world timbres and rhythms, with Arabic and Mediterranean overtones. Members of the Collective include NC State physics professor Marco Buongiorno-Nardelli (flutes), Jim Crew (piano, accordion), Naji Hilal (oud, violin), Ed Butler (drums), Alex Gorodezky (guitars), Ernie Donadelle (bass) and Frake Hunsel (percussion).
