Dr. Laura Gurak
"Pay No Attention to the Man Behind the Curtain:
Dr. Gurak teaches in the doctoral program in Rhetoric and Scientific and
Technical Communication at the University of Minnesota and does research
in the areas of computer-mediated communication, social aspects of
computing, and intellectual property and electronic texts. Her book,
Persuasion and Privacy in Cyberspace: The Online Protests over Lotus
MarketPlace and the Clipper Chip, was published by Yale University Press
in 1997, and her next one, Cyberliteracy: Navigating the Online World
with Presence, is due from Yale later this year. She is also a regular
commentator on Minnesota Public Radio.
