This website seeks to help teachers understand curriculum integration and why it is a better teaching and learning approach for early adolescents. To build this understanding it is important to look at the ideas and theories of several educational theorists who have studied the development of adolescents. Understanding the ideas of these theorists can help teachers understand how young adolescents learn and why an integrative curriculum is highly beneficial to young adolescents.

These theorists are divided into two categories:
Development Theorists and Applied Theorists.
