Dimensions of Curriculum Integration

Curriculum Design is a curriculum that is personally and socially relevant to the student, with activities and instructions that are thematically focused around big issues and real-world problems. It enables students to develop critical-thinking skills and social awareness. The components of curriculum integration are:

Integration of Experiences - People learn by reflecting on previous personal experiences. These experiences broaden and deepen present understanding and can be put to use in new situations.

Social Integration - Students bring diversity and their own frame of reference to a shared democratic learning process.

Knowledge Integration - Students use previous knowledge and experiences as their foundation as they explore new dimensions of learning.
