Kente Cloth: Mathematics
Activities
Teacher will present different patterns of Kente cloth
to the class. Students will identify the geometric shapes found in
the pieces of cloth. Students will practice drawing some of the geometric
shapes found on the cloth and explain the theorems and laws that apply
to specific figures and patterns. As an assessment students will design
a poster with one of the geometric patterns found on the Kente cloth.
The poster will also include a brief explanation of the geometric
pattern. Students will present posters to the class.
