Accra: Last Days

We woke the next morning and headed for Accra, stopping at the Asafo Temple referenced earlier. Monday was spent touring the Artists Market in Accra, and locating those hard to find boxes and strapping tape. Monday night was our great feast - a farewell dinner at a magnificent beach resort. We each dressed in the traditional outfits we'd had made for us in Kumasi, and then ate like great chiefs. My mouth still waters just thinking about it!

So, how do I end this email saga? It was a magnificent trip. Words don't come close to describing the richness of this culture. And it is rich. That word kept coming into my head the whole time I was there. Strange word, I guess, to describe such an impoverished country. But it suits it in so many ways - the abundance of sights, and smells, and traditions, and stories, and native crafts. I'm amazed we saw as much as we did, but can't help but wonder at all we missed. I'm not sure what to *do* yet with everything I experienced there. I think it needs to absorb a while first. Yet I confess a nagging feeling that I not delay, for fear I lose the moment and the *sense* of Ghana. So, I'll let you know when I figure it out! :)

Thanks so much for allowing me to share it with you!
