"This is just a brief note to let you know how much the students of Spanish and I enjoyed the presentation on Peru on Tues., April 11 presented by Professor Ana Gray as part of the Humanities Extension OUTREACH program of NCSU.
We are very fortunate to be able to enrich our student's curriculum each year with excellent programs such as this one, facilitated by your department. It is also a special honor to have Professor Gray as one of our school family's parents.
The students were very fascinated with all the information that was shared with them about the country of Peru and were very intrigues to learn about the current political elections taking place. Other fascinating points were their exposure to the works of the Incas and the Andes and their contributions to our civilization. They especially remember the Tumi and the brain surgery. All of the children liked the many artifacts that Professor Gray brought along to bring everything to real life for them. I know they are curious to learn more both about the country of Peru and the history of the Inca Empire. We at Leesville Middle appreciate your continual support of our foreign language program.

Sincerely,
Maria G. Bonito, Spanish Teacher"

"A very interactive program which the children enjoyed immensely. The program was not only entertaining, but allowed children to hear new vocabulary..."

"Since we are focusing intently on personal narratives and descriptive writing for our annual state test next month, your engaging storyteling and attention to details (adding layers to your story) were invaluable. Thank you."

"Thank you again for providing the funds that enabled us to have the African Folktelling presentation. Our students enjoyed and learned from it. I am sure their own presentation will be much improved from their exposure to Halima and Thomasi. Thank you!"

"Recently Clay Carmichael presented her picture book program at Fuquay-Varina Elementary. She was wonderful, and the children just loved it. They were interested and attentive. ... You are making a difference in the lives of our children."

"Mr. Platt did a wonderful program -- filed with useful information. He kept the children's attention. This is the type of program we like to have scheduled."

"I want to offer my profuse thanks for arranging the visit of author Clay Carmichael to our school in January. Our children tremendously enjoyed her book-talk sesions. These wonderful opportunities are quite rare for us..."

"Thank you for taking time out of your work to come and talk to us. Most guest speakers are boring but you were not. I already have a little art job. I make pictures on the school walls. Me and another boy are the only ones allowed."
