Russia is situated in northern Asia and spans from Eastern Europe to the north of China. Russia is the largest country in the world. It is about 6.6 million square miles, almost 2 times the size of the U.S. The country spans 11 time zones. Although it is the largest country in the world, it ranks sixth largest in population. The population is about 149 million people.
