Pskov Kremlin Wall, 15th Century

Trinity Cathedral/Pskov Kremlin

The Trinity Cathedral is located inside the Pskov Kremlin. It is a splendid monument of 17th century architecture. The original cathedral was built during Olga’s time. (Remember her? If not, go back to Origins.) Today it is used for Russian Orthodox Church services. The Trinity Cathedral is protected by the Kremlin, or "wall," which was once the largest fortress in Russia.

In the 16th century, the city was beseiged by 100,000 Polish people. Russians were starving, yet one woman's vision of Mary saved them. She placed her icon near the enemy and they retreated.
