When I met my family for the first time I was extremely impressed with the warm hospitality they extended to me. I never felt confused or abandoned, and I always was comfortable. I found this element of generosity to be true among most of the Russian people I met while I was there.
Olga, my hostess, showed me all of the sites in Pskov – from the beautiful churches to the busy vendor markets.
I was able to ask Olga and her family many questions concerning Russian life, and felt as though I was a Russian for a week.
Olga is about twenty years old and she lives with her mother, father, sister, and grandmother.
The grandmother specializes in sewing and takes care of the daily home chores while both parents’ work.
On my last night my host family made a wonderful dinner to celebrate my visit. I was so sad to leave!
