Our tour bus was waiting for us when we arrived in St. Petersburg. It whisked us to our hotel, the Pulkovskaya. The hotel's location on the edge of St. Petersburg is as close as the Germans got to the city during World War II. Across the street is a monument to the soldiers and citizens who fought to protect St. Petersburg.
