Model of Blackbeard's Queen Anne's Revenge
Blackbeard's flagship, Queen Anne's Revenge, was recently discovered where it sank just off the coast at Fort Macon, NC.  Divers are currently recovering artifacts.  You can see some of the ship's cannon balls in the Maritime Museum.

Life car Want to go for a ride?  After all this is a car - a Life Car!  This was used to rescue four to nine people from a sinking ship. 

 
Shoreline whaling was a profitable industry.  From one whale you could get 39 barrels of whale oil and 854 pounds of whalebone from which you could make such objects as corset stays, hoops, umbrellas, buggy whips, and combs. Whaling Exhibit
