Living in Southern Ghana, the Land of Kente
Videos The West African nation of Ghana is comprised of over 50 different ethnic groups who speak nearly 100 distinct languages. But Ghana's identity is closely related to the Akan, a number of related peoples who live in Southern Ghana and nearby Ivory Coast. The history of the Akan and their rich culture informs this portrait of modern Ghana. Special attention is paid to traditional art, to the importance of proverbs, and to Ghanaian craftsmanship. Produced in cooperation with the North Carolina Museum of Art. 33:30
