The
Women's and Gender Studies internship is open only to WGS undergraduate
majors and minors. The internship consists of practical work and
functions as a counterpart to the academic and more theoretical
focus of other major or minor courses. A paper that ties together
practice and theory is required and is written under the supervision
of the WGS Director. Readings and classes may also be required.
In the past, students have interned with such organizations as Girl
Scouts, N.C. Equity, The
Women's Center and Planned
Parenthood. A current effort is underway to develop an internship
devoted to housing issues.
